Se’Anna Johnson
Born and raised in Minneapolis, Se’Anna leads with lived experiences that continually inspire her passion to build bridges to success. Placing great value on using a holistic approach for youth advancement and empowerment, Se’Anna looks forward to supporting Flaherty Scholars as the Scholar Success Mentor of Region 1 - Minnesota.
Over the past decade, Se’Anna has used her creativity alongside her Sociological background to help numerous public school districts, non-profit organizations, and government agencies across the Twin Cities bring about restorative processes that better serve historically excluded and marginalized communities (especially youth of color).
Se'Anna navigates her work with the urgency of facing social issues at the root by addressing systemic obstacles so that we can all overcome challenges together and collectively thrive.
Combining the love of her recreational artistry with her professional experience, she also actively leads an initiative rooted in Hip Hop activism to cultivate sustainability for individuals and communities to creatively thrive in education, recreation, and wellness.
From coordinating preventative programs in recreation and detention centers to engaging community leaders for the cause, Se’Anna believes that every single person has a place to make a fruitful contribution in the world and delights herself in finding ways to activate the skills and talents that will allow us to leave the world better than we found it.
